Date c1993
Location Bewl Bridge Reservoir
Water Temperature Unknown
Boat(s) involved 1x
Boat Construction Wooden Colley
Outcome All safe
Description The reservoir was extremeley rough in the morning when the event was due to start. The race was very much on and off but about mid-day the organisers said it was definitely On. I went afloat but was swamped within about 50 yards of the shore. Fortunately I managed to get back without much difficulty but it could have been nasty if I had gone further out into the reservoir before being swamped. I think that quite a few other small boats didn't make it the start.
